Tax Form 1098-T

  • The University has outsourced the production of the student 1098t forms to ECSI.  Your 1098-T will be available starting January 31, 2024.  Once available, you can access your 1098-T via the ECSI weblink: https://heartland.ecsi.net/index.main.html#/access/signIn 

    There are three steps to access your 1098-T tax form.

    Step 1: Create a Profile

    You will need to create a profile to connect an account and access your 1098-T tax form. To create a profile, click on the Sign In | Register link in the top right of the web page. Go to the Register and Create A New Profile area on the right side of the page.

    If you already have a profile, you can skip Step 1 and go directly to Step 2 to connect your tax form account to your existing profile.

    Step 2: Sign In To Your Profile

    Now that you have created your profile, you will need to sign in to the profile to complete step 3 of this process. To sign in to your profile, click on the Sign In | Register link in the top right of the web page. Go to the Sign In To An Existing Profile area on the left side of the page.

    Step 3: Connect an Account

    Once you have created a profile, you will need to connect your tax form account to your profile.

    Step 1: Click on the Connect An Account tile from the Your School Accounts page.

    Step 2: On the left side of the page, enter your Heartland Key and click the Continue button.

    If you don’t have your Heartland Key, please email bursar@usa.edu to request the key be sent to you via email.

    IMPORTANT! You will need your Heartland Key to connect your account and view your tax form. 

    View Your 1098-T Tax Information Online

    After you have created a profile, signed in to your profile, and connected your tax form account, you can view your 1098-T tax information.

    From the Your School Accounts page, click on the tile/card that is displayed for the school. Then, click on the View Account button. Your tax form information will be displayed on the page.

    General information:  The 1098T forms are available on Jan. 31st of each year. The report shows how much the University has received in payments (Box 1) for the previous year. USA scholarships, private scholarships, VA payments, Yellow Ribbon school matches are considered 'grants' by the IRS and are not considered payments.

    Please note, ECSI will only create 1098T for students that are degree-seeking and have a verified SSN number on record.

    1098-T FAQ’s

    1. Non-degree seeking courses do NOT qualify for 1098T status per IRS regulations. ECSI will not process 1098-T’s for non-degree courses by law.
    2. ‘I never received the 1098t in the mail and I can’t remember my login information for the student portal’.  ECSI will provide instructions on their link.
     
    Please note, The University of St Augustine only creates 1098T for students that are degree-seeking and have a verified SSN number on record.
