August 2026 Updates
Blackboard is continuing to enhance the experience to make navigation more intuitive, consistent, and user-friendly for everyone. Building on the refreshed interface introduced in January (located at the bottom of this page), this update adds the following on August 7, 2026:
- Full-page content navigation. Learning modules, folders, and individual content items now open as full pages instead of sliding panels layered over the course outline.
- Breadcrumbs for contextual clarity. Breadcrumbs now appear on content pages, showing where you are within a course's module and folder structure.
- Home button now returns to the courses page
- "X" button now sits within the navigation banner along with course breadcrumbs
- Focus state for tests and assignments: when test or assignment is started, this enters a new focus state that minimizes navigation elements and visual distractions.
