Oncology care can be complex and requires careful coordination within the interprofessional healthcare team. In collaboration with Eisner Award winning author, Brian Fies, this IPE V-SIM event will provide a unique learning opportunity for participants as they work as an interprofessional team to navigate discharge of an oncology patient in the acute care setting. Students will not only learn about their patient through a traditional medical chart, but excerpts from Brian’s autobiographical webcomic “Mom’s Cancer” will be incorporated throughout this simulation experience to shed valuable light on the patient's experience navigating the medical system. https://usa-edu.zoom.us/j/95904843144 “Empathy has not script. There is no right way or wrong way to do it. It’s simply listening, holding space, withholding judgement, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘you’re not alone.’” - Brene Brown
