Guide - Adding Employees to Blackboard Courses

Issue/Question

• I want to be added as an instructor to a course.
• I want to be added as a lab instructor to a course.
• I want to be added as a lab assistant to a course.
• I want to be added as an observer to a course.

Environment

User Role

• Faculty only

Cause

• Faculty wants to be added to a course.

Resolution

For any ticket requesting enrollment, the following information is needed. If this information is not present in the request, please ask the client to provide it:

• Term, e.g. Fall 2024, Spring 2025, etc.
  • A Previous term course means the course has already completed.
  • A current term course is the ongoing term
  • A future term course occurs in the future.
• Role, Options are:
  • Instructor
  • Lab Instructor
  • Lab Assistant
  • Observer
• Course ID, e.g. PHT 5135C 400

Be sure to ask for all three details above as this will determine where you escalate the ticket.

Program Assistants and Admins may only enter enrollments into Jenzabar in a specific interval. The interval is 40 days prior to a term start, up until a week after a term starts.
